Hailing from the streets of Chicago you may know MP as a producer that creates feel good hip-hop jams, beats that have an infusion of live instrumentation, or commercial hits that bring MP’s original sound to the mainstream. Much Critical Acclaim has come to MP after releasing his first full length LP – “Sonic Visuals” (2008). The single/video “Showtime” won a NY promoters unsigned artist contest and to top it off MP was a featured artist on Myspace in the Spring of 09. Eight months of concentrated promotion, three official videos, a whole lot of College radio spins sets the foundation for MP to maintain a professional career as a Musician.

Moving on to the summer of 09 the single “Dwanye & Whitley” with Pugs Atomz and Primeridian won the WGCI (Clear Channel) go-ill radio contest and then picked up an exclusive feature by Microsoft. Looking ahead for MP are two full length projects one with Czar Absolute of Animate Objects and The Chicago Afro-Beat Project “The New Deal” and one with Simeon Viltz of the Primerdian.

MP is a passionate lover of music and the Hip-Hop culture. One of his motto’s is “get yours, then give back”. MP gives back to the culture by mentoring Chicago urban youth through The R.E.A.L. Youth Program. MP’s love for music first started out at a young age listening to Jazz legends Stan Getz and Oscar Peterson. Introduced to them by his father, a full time pianist, it was obvious at a young age MP was deep into the culture of music.

“I didn’t find Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop found me. Some of my favorite Hip-Hop albums growing up were “Stakes is High”, “Bizzaride to the Pharcyde”, “Uptown Saturday Night” and Resurrection”" (MP). At a young age MP would stay up all night taping mix shows to then make his own mixtapes for the crew and the whip. Later on at Full Sail going for his degree in Recording Engineering he acquired his first pair of 1200’s. Diggin in the crates for the love turned very quickly into looking for 45s to chop up once MP acquired a Triton. In 06 MP caught a bad break and when his appendix ruptured leaving him in a life threatening coma for 6 weeks. “Its all good, it just added more fuel to my fire” says MP. Throughout it all his aim has always been to develop a sound that can be matched by no-one with a grind that is never scared for the next oppurtunity. The path of a hall of fame a producer is on it’s way. “1 Down, 1 ta Go, and 1 mo Show!”
